Dear Stacey,

My blog was about microbes and sex.  At first I was going to write solely on intercourse and microbes, but once I started researching more, I found some other related topics and decided to base each blog post off of different subjects, while keeping it related to "microbes and sex".  I think that in doing so I learned a lot more than just sexually transmitted diseases.  I learned that depending on your gender, microbes have a "preference"as to whether or not they will live on you.  I also learned about genetically engineering microbes together to make new organisms, some good, some bad, but all very interesting.
Writing this blog was pretty fun for me overall.  To me it wasn’t like a “traditional” blog, but it was a good change.  I tried to do a blog once, but it didn’t last more than a week, so this was an interesting experience.  Unlike a blog that I would write to fellow peers to share through facebook, myspace, etc., I took a more serious approach to this.  While being more on the serious side though, I did write as casually as possible so if there were to be a high school/college level individual reading my blog, they wouldn't be overwhelmed with information.
I did enjoy the process of the project.  Just like the PSA, it had the right amount of both classes tied into it. I thought it was a nice was to get us thinking bout the scientific aspect of the FLC because we had to do some research on our topic.  We were required to do research in order to actually know what our topic was about, but a creative writing part was the main purpose.  I liked this project the most because although we were forced to use our composition skills, it wasn’t a boring typical paper.  We were able to be creative, chose what we wrote about, and write in our style.
I think that if I were to have spent a little more time on the writing instead of finding an interesting topic/idea to write about, my work would have been much better.  Even though there could be improvements, I am satisfied with the final product.  If I were to do anything different, I would add one more post, or write more in the first three posts.  This wouldn’t be to make the overall outcome longer, but to add more information to each post, or a completely new post.
